Meizu has been an extremely active company this year, they had two extremely successful handsets in form of Meizu MX4 and MX4 Pro, both of which launched within the last couple of months. After a bunch of leaks and rumors, Meizu has announced that they’ll hold an event on December 23rd and have teased new device(s) as part of their “Blue Charm” line. Meizu’s VP said that these will be affordable handsets for “young people” and has hinted that they’ll be available in a ton of color options. Well, the event is still on going, we’re on the scene, and Meizu has announced their first Blue Charm handset, though the company won’t be using that name, at least not internationally.
Meizu M1 Note is the first smartphone in Meizu’s new line of devices. This handset is basically exactly what we thought it would be, most of the leaked material was spot on. The M1 Note features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080, 403ppi) display along with 2GB of RAM for your multitasking needs and 16 or 32GB of non-expandable internal storage. MediaTek’s 64-bit MT6752 octa-core processor clocked at 1.7GHz is powering on this handset and it shops with a Mali T760 GPU for graphics rendering. 13-megapixel camera (F/2.0) is located at the back of this handset and is flanked by a dual-tone flash, while there’s a 5-megapixel shooter located on the front of the phone. That 13-megapixel snapper offers 1080p video recording, while the 120FPS slow-motion recording is also available. This handset ships with a 3410mAh battery and should provide plenty of use before it runs out of juice according to Meizu. This is also a dual-SIM, dual standby smartphone for those of you who use two SIM cards. 4G LTE connectivity and dual-band Wi-Fi are also available.
The phone is available in Yellow, Blue, White, Green and Pink color options. The 16GB version of this device will cost you 999 Yuan ($161), while the 32GB model will set you back 1,199 Yuan ($193) should you decide to get a copy. That’s it folks, if you’re in a market for a well-specced handset, you live in China and you don’t want to spend too much money buying it, you should definitely consider the M1 Note. Meizu didn’t mention anything regarding the international availability, if we get some additional info, we’ll let you know.
