Huawei GX1 got certified in China recently and the phone is now officially released by the company, let’s check out what it has to offer. Huawei GX1 is a mid-range phablet from this Chinese OEM which is rather active in the smartphone market lately. Huawei has recently released the Honor 6 Plus and Honor 4X handsets along with the special edition of their Ascend Mate 7 phablet called “Monarch”. The Ascend GX1 stopped by TENAA recently and revealed some of its details to us, and as I said, Huawei has now officially announced the device.
This handset features a 6-inch 720p (1280 x 720) IPS LCD display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable via MicroSD card. The Ascend GX1 is powered by Qualcomm’s 64-bit Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz which ships with an Adreno 306 GPU for graphics rendering. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed on this device with Huawei’s Emotion UI on top of it. As far as cameras are concerned, you’ll find an 8-megapixel snapper on the back of this device and an LED flash next it, while there’s a 2-megapixel shooter on the front side of this smartphone. This handset supports 4G LTE and has Dual-SIM capabilities and Huawei says that its screen-to-body ratio is 80.5%, similar to the aforementioned Ascend Mate 7 actually. Huawei Ascend GX1 measures 161 x 84.5 x 9.2mm while it weighs 173 grams and ships with a 3500mAh battery.
Should you decide to purchase this handset in China, it will cost you 1,590 Yuan ($255), just follow the source link below. The company didn’t share any info as far as the international launch is concerned, but they might launch it outside of Asia in the future. What do you think about this device? The phone doesn’t seem all that bad at all, but I’d argue there are far better offerings in China at the moment. There are companies like Xiaomi and Meizu which make it really hard to recommend a mid-range phone for such a price when they have great high-end offerings which are only a little bit more expensive. We’ll see how this thing will sell though, Huawei is a really stable company and I guess they know what they’re doing.
