Some Samsung phones experiencing crashing problems when running Material Design apps

Samsung_Galaxy_Note_4_Main_02_TA Google’s new Material Design look for apps is a big step up from what we’ve previously seen, so many developers want to try to implement that bright and bold three-dimensional look on their applications. Fortunately, they can do that thanks to a ported library of assets from Google that developers can ship with their apps, so even older versions of Android get to enjoy Material Design aesthetics.

Not so fortunately, it looks like Samsung screwed that up. Thanks to an older version of an Android support library, some Samsung devices are having issues running apps that include that ported Material Design library. The issue is on Samsung’s end, but Koushik Dutta posted up a temporary workaround for developers until something else changes.
