DOOV CD V1 Features 180-Degree Rotating Camera, Available for Pre-Order in China Now

Screenshot 2014-11-24 at 13.02.11 Every once in a while manufacturers release odd hardware which we haven’t seen before. Most phones usually follow the same design guidelines, but some really stand out, let’s take Oppo N3 handset for example. Just like its predecessor (the N1), this handset sports a rotating camera on top of the handset, this time around we’re talking about an auto-rotating 16-megapixel camera sensor. Sure, it might not look great and makes the device big, but it’s unique and it seems to work for Oppo, not even a rather steep price of the handset was able to stop consumers from pre-ordering a ton of these handsets. I named Oppo N3 for a reason, because its most distinctive feature is that camera on top, well, the handset we’ll talk about now also has a unique camera function.

Duo CD V1 smartphone listing popped up on Jingdong Mall in China. The device isn’t officially announced just yet, but consumers can pre-order it if they’d like via this Chinese retailer. Anyhow, this device was certified by TENAA last month and now it is listed for pre-order in China. DOOV CD V1’s main feature is its rotating camera which can rotate up to a maximum of 180 degrees. The camera is attached to a hinge on the back and if you take a look at the image above, the mechanism will be quite obvious, even though it look kind of odd. As far as the camera itself goes, we’re talking about a 13-megapixel sensor (OIS included) flanked by a dual-LED, dual-tone flash. This device also has a physical button on the side, which can be used to take pictures and I believe it has some other functions as well.

Now that we got that out of the way, let’s see what the rest of the specs look like. DOOV CD V1 features a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6732 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5GHz and the device will ship with a 2480mAh battery. Android 4.4 KitKat comes pre-installed here with DOOV’s custom UI on top of it. This handset supports 4G LTE, though I believe its bands limit its functionality outside of China. The device measures 148 x 72 x 8.3mm while its build is also rather solid, it offers metal frame build.

Either way, this handset is now available for pre-order via Jingdong Mall in China, as I already mentioned. You can pre-order it for 1999 Yuan ($326), if you’re interested, follow the source link below.
