Talon for Twitter has long been one of our favorite Twitter clients, bringing great design and functionality to the otherwise dull stock Twitter experience. Now Klinker Apps is back with a new Material Design-toting app, Talon for Twitter (Plus). Before we get into the details for the new app, however, let’s talk about why Klinker decided to make a whole new app.
Talon for Twitter (Classic) has reached Twitter’s dreaded token limit. If you’re unfamiliar with the concept, it means that each Twitter client has a certain number of tokens. A token is used when the user links that app with their Twitter account. Once the token limit is reached, no more users can sign up. Talon (Classic) has recently reached its token limit, so it has been pulled from the Play Store. Thus, the beginning of the new app. Now, let’s talk about Talon (Plus).
Talon (Plus) is essentially the same app that we’re all used to, only this new version is built with Android Lollipop in mind. The big changes we see are aesthetic enhancements, while the functionality and layout stay just about the same.
Want to try it out? The new app can be found in the Google Play Store for $3.99, and only runs on devices with Android 5.0, which also includes the L Preview. On the downside, Talon (Classic) users will have to rebuy the new app. If you don’t want to shell out the extra $4, though, the old version of the app should still continue to receive updates.
