SeatGeek is an application that’s already fairly popular. It keeps track of over 140,000 live events that range from sports and music to live theater and festivals. Using SeatGeek, you can browse events that interest you and buy tickets to those events. Usually they’re at discounted prices or at least at the lowest prices they can possibly sell for. It’s earned a pretty decent following that’s about to get bigger because SeatGeek 2.0 has been released.
The new version brings a lot of interesting features. They include:
- Tracking – Users can now track their favorite artists, teams, and events. That means if you’d like to stay up to date on your local sports team, you can sort of “subscribe” to them on SeatGeek and track tickets to those events. If your favorite musician or band goes on tour, you’ll be able to get updates on that when it happens.
- Notifications – Along with tracking comes notifications. The app will now notify you when your favorite things come to town.
- Curated browsing – A more specific browsing experience that lets people narrow down their searches to find the things they actually want instead of browsing through a bunch of stuff they don’t want.
According to the press release, all of the current core features will remain intact so current users should only see new stuff and not the removal of older stuff. The update is rolling out starting today and it’s totally free to use with no in app purchases. It really is an application that all fans of live events should have in their app drawer.
