Chromecast Now Supports Drama Fever, Twitch, iHeart Radio And Disney Channel Apps

Chromecast-AH-7

The Chromecast is still alive and kickin’, and yes I just said kickin’, and the good news here is that there are now a few more apps with recently added Chromecast support to add even more functionality and value to the little $35 HDMI streaming dongle from Google. There are already a large selection of supported apps and apps designed specifically for Chromecast, of which there are many dedicated to streaming media like Movies, TV, music and the like. There really hasn’t been any dedicated to live streaming video games though, and yes we’re referring to Twitch, that is until now as the Twitch app has just been updated to add in Chromecast support so you can stream your favorite streams to the big screen while you’re at home.

It’s not like you couldn’t watch Twitch on your TV through a number of different ways already, but with the Chromecast capability now you can stream to the big screen at home or anywhere you are as long as you’re plugging the Chromecast into something that has an HDMI in port and you have an available WiFi connection to use. This means you can force your GF or BF to “enjoy” those lovely League of Legends or DOTA 2 matches that you adore so much. Trust me, they’ll appreciate you for it. There are also a handful of apps from Disney that have gained support for the Chromecast, including the Disney Channel app, Disney Junior, and the Disney XD app.

Not a Disney fan and don’t care for watching livestreams of today’s hottest video games? Maybe you’re more into dramas or just want more options for streaming music and radio. iHeart Radio and Drama Fever(an app that throws together collections of Korean, Japanese, Taiwanese, Spanish, and Latin American dramas)now support Chromecast streaming as well. While each app might appeal to different groups of people, all have their value and more Chromecast support is always a good thing. Have you picked up a Chromecast yet? If so, what’s your favorite app to stream to the big screen and why? If you don’t have a Chromecast, you can snag one from Google through the Play Store or pick one up from Amazon.
