A closer hands-on look at Motorola Moto 360

We weren’t able to make it to Motorola’s press event yesterday, but thankfully we caught up with Motorola in Germany at IFA. We have now been able to get our hands on the Moto 360, which is already available to the market starting today!

We’ve seen the Moto 360 a number of times in the past, and even had an early hands-on look with a preview version of the device not that long ago. The final hardware and design is the same as we’ve come to expect, but that’s not a bad thing. This is one of the most attractive Android Wear devices to date and the first circular AW smartwatch to the market — even though LG’s G Watch R won’t be too terribly far behind.

Outside of aesthetics, one of the coolest features about the Moto 360 is its wireless charging which makes taking off the watch and charging it a simple affair when compared to other wearable devices out there.

Motorola Moto 360 specs

  • 1.56-inch 320×290 display, 205ppi

  • TI OMAP 3 processor

  • 512MB RAM

  • 4GB storage

  • 320mAh battery

  • Bluetooth 4.0

  • Heart rate monitor

When it comes to software, you get the same stock Android Wear experience you’d expect with everyone else, though it looks a bit different with the circular display (well, circular except for the bottom black bar). There’s also a number of Moto-specific watch faces included here as well.

Bottom-line if you’re looking for a stylistic Android Wear watch that stands out from the others, the Moto 360 certainly has been worth the wait.
