Just a couple months after making the device official, OPPO has teased that they will be launching the OPPO N1 Mini into India, soon. Buyers will be treated to a little upgrade as well, the Chinese smartphone will now offer what OPPO calls a revolutionary 24MP Ultra HD camera.
The tease comes by way of OPPO Mobile India’s Facebook page with the tag line “Mini in size. Max on fun.”
Now, let’s remind ourselves what OPPO means by ‘mini’ here, the OPPO N1 Mini comes with a 5-inch display at 1280 x 720 resolution. I don’t know about you, but that is only small when compared to the original N1 at 5.9-inches.
As for that 24MP camera, this refers to the final produced images, the camera sensor itself is a Sony built 13MP shooter. Don’t think this a disadvantage though, at least not until you see it in action. If you recall, the OPPO Find 7 touted a 50MP camera, which, again, was a bunch of smaller photos stitched together to create the final 50MP image, check it out for yourself over here.
It does not appear that OPPO will be changing any of the other specs on the device, you can expect that camera to swivel front to back allowing great flexibility of use, and consistent image quality no matter what you are shooting. A MediaTek octa-core SoC with 1GB of RAM will keep your Android KitKat based OS moving, powered by a 2140mAh battery.
Luckily, OPPO couldn’t wait to spill the beans, just a bit. Although we do not know how much the OPPO N1 Mini will cost, we now know it will be available within a week with three new colors, yellow, white and a pale blue. But you should keep tabs on their Facebook page and official India website for more info.
How many OPPO fans out there are interested in a ‘mini’ version of the OPPO N1?
