Samsung is going back to it’s roots, kinda, and bashing Apple here in their latest commercial. Well they aren’t actually bashing Apple, but going through New York City asking which tablet they’d prefer. Whether it’s the Apple iPad Air or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S. Many, if not all chose the Galaxy Tab S. They showed off the display of the Galaxy Tab S compared to the iPad Air, and it was amazing. Samsung’s stating that their Galaxy Tab S has over a million more pixels than the iPad Air. Additionally it’s lighter and thinner than the iPad Air. So much for the iPad Air being called the iPad Air, right?
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S is a pretty light device with Samsung’s AMOLED display. It’s a 2560×1600 resolution AMOLED display, along with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 3GB of RAM, and 16GB of storage. It does also have a microSD card slot. We reviewed the Galaxy Tab S 8.4 a few months ago and really liked the device. The display is amazing, and great for media consumption, while still being pretty lightweight.
It’s refreshing to see Samsung doing ads that involve Apple products, without really bashing them. Throughout the commercial, they didn’t say or infer that the Apple iPad Air sucks or anything, just that the Galaxy Tab S is thinner, lighter, and has a whole lot more pixels. They are both great tablets, but obviously we are going to be biased here since we are an Android site, and only one of those tablets run on Android. But operating systems aside, which one would you choose? The Apple iPad Air, or the Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5? I’d choose the Galaxy Tab S, even though I’m not a fan of Samsung, and do own a Macbook Pro, it’d be solely because of the display. What about you? Let us know in the comments below.
