Well now it’s official. The HTC One E8 will be on Sprint. Actually it’s there right now waiting for you to pick one up. We heard that Sprint might be getting the HTC One E8 a few weeks ago, through a leaked video from their YouTube page, but now the carrier has confirmed that it’s available beginning today. Sprint is selling it for $499 full retail, or you can pick it up for $20.48/month on Sprint’s Easy Pay. That would be $20.48/month for 24 months. Pair this with their recently launched $60 unlimited everything plan and you’ve got a pretty great deal on your hands. Or you could pick it up for $99 on contract.
The HTC One E8 is pretty much the exact same as the M8, but in plastic. While the M8 is all aluminum, the E8 is a plastic version of the M8 and about $150 cheaper. It looks really nice in the matte finish, but it’s also available in a glossy back if that’s what you prefer. The HTC One M8 would go for $649 off contract or $27.09/month on Sprint’s Easy Pay, or finally $199 on contract. So there’s quite the difference here.
Adding the Sharp Aquos Crystal and now the HTC One E8 to it’s lineup, devices that are typically only available over in Japan or Asia, it’s making us wonder if Softbank has something to do with this? As far as Sharp goes, most likely. Seeing as Softbank is the largest carrier partner for Sharp over in Japan, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them have Sharp bring the device over to the US. It’ll also help Sharp get some more recognition. And the HTC One E8, well it’ll be interesting to see if that sells better than the M8, as it is cheaper, but it’s not aluminum. Anyone excited for the HTC One E8 on Sprint?
