Google I/O attendees get a reminder that the Moto 360 is almost here

moto 360 first look (12 of 12)

Earlier today Motorola sent out press invites for an event on September 4th, teasing the Moto G’s successor, the X+1, some kind of bluetooth device and, of course, the Moto 360 watch. If this event doesn’t make it painfully obvious that the Moto 360 is almost here, a new letter going out to Google I/O attendees should drive the point home.

As you may already know, those who attended I/O were not only given their choice between the Gear Live or the G Watch, Google also promised to ship a Moto 360 when it become available. In the letter, Google reminds folks that the watch is coming soon and gives everyone a deadline of “midnight PST September 5th” to register their addresses — one day after Motorola’s special press event.

The letter all but seals the deal for the Moto 360’s impending arrival, and leaves us wondering: if Google plans to ship out the watches shortly after the 5th, can we also expect the full commercial launch just days after the final unveil? Obviously we don’t know the answer to that. Motorola could simply be shipping first to I/O attendees with a full commercial launch not coming until a bit later. Or they could be pulling an HTC-like move and releasing the watch (and maybe the new phones?) nearly immediately after the event. Either way, we should know soon enough.

What do you think, anyone planning on picking up the Moto 360? What’s the max price you are willing to pay for the watch?
