Buckets of ice are falling on the tech industry – watch the best videos here!

Watching random friends dumping buckets of ice-cold water on themselves was fun, but the movement reached another level of geeky just some days ago. Technology industry celebrities have started taking the Ice Bucket Challenge and they are challenging each other.

For those who don’t know, the Ice Bucket challenge is a campaign meant to create awareness on ALS, or Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. This is a disease that affects the brain cells and the spinal chord. It is a cause of many deaths, affecting the cells that control voluntary movement in our bodies.

The challenge consists of dumping a bucket of iced water on yourself once you are challenged. The participant would then challenge 3 others, who have to do the same or donate $100 within 24 hours. Simple, helpful and fun!

We have personalities like Satya Nadella, Mark Zuckerberg and John Legere leading the pack. More participants are sure to come, but we wanted to give you a fun look at the current videos and share some laughs with you!

T-Mobile CEO John Legere

This happens to be the funnest Ice Bucket Challenge I have seen. It’s full of energy and a team spirit that can’t be matched by others. The T-Mobile crew always seems to be the funnest, and this Ice Bucket Challenge recording doesn’t disappoint. It may be important to note this wasn’t just one bucket, but John Legere has been known to go above and beyond.

John Legere has challenged the other three major carriers’ CEOs, including Verizon CEO Lowell C. McAdam, AT&T CEO Randall L. Stephenson and Sprint CEO Marcelo Claure. Of course, he couldn’t miss an opportunity to go against the competitors.

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella

Microsoft’s relatively new CEO hasn’t been plastered all over the news like Steve Ballmer was. It’s refreshing (no pun intended) to see him doing something good in one of his few public appearances.

Satya Nadella has challenged Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, as well as Google CEO Larry Page.

Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg

Nothing like seeing Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg getting a cold bucket of ice. He made us suffer enough with all those crazy features and site re-designs, so it’s time he feels just a bit of pain.

After coming out of the challenge healthy and strong, Facebook’s CEO has nominated Microsft’s Bill Gates, Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg and Netflix CEO Reed Hastings.

AT&T

While AT&T’s Randall L. Stephenson hasn’t joined the party, Ralph de la Vega did take the Ice Bucket Challenge. In turn, he challenge his entire directory board team, which should be a fun video to watch.

Wrap Up

Be sure that more of these celebrity Ice Bucket Challenge videos are to come, so stay tuned for more fun! Of course, the whole point of this is to raise awareness about ALS. We do urge you to visit the ALS Association website and learn more about it. Try to spare some bucks if you can!
