The THL 5000 Has A Massive 5,000mAh Battery Inside Just Because It Can

While a common complaint today for many smartphone users is that they don’t have enough battery life in their devices, that may soon be a thing of the past for individuals who choose to pick up the THL 5000 for their next smartphone. This beast has a title that is appropriately named after the amount of capacity you’ll find inside its battery. Yes that’s right, it has a 5,000mAh battery on the inside waiting to take you through long journeys of power hungry activities without even batting an eye. While 5,000mAh does sound tempting, is it really needed? For some perhaps, especially with the extreme power users.

Besides what might be the largest battery used inside a smartphone ever, the THL 5000 is sporting a 5-inch IPS display with a decent 1080 x 1920 resolution and it’s protected by Gorilla Glass 3 so you shouldn’t worry about scratching it up to much. That is unless you’re trying really, really hard to do so. The rest of the specs are actually rather impressive although not the best on the market, but what is probably the most impressive thing about this device is the cost for everything that you’re getting. The phone is said to cost close to an equivalent of $299, and for that price you’ll get a massive battery and a well rounded set of hardware specifications.

The THL 5000 also comes equipped with a true octa-core processor from MediaTek, more specifically, the MT6592 CPU that clocks at a speed of 1.7GHz, which also houses a quad-core mali 450 GPU for all your graphics needs. It also comes with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage space, so there’s plenty of room for just bout anything that you could need to store on the device. Should you be close to running out of space the storage is expandable with a microSD card. Other specs include a 13MP camera with a Sony Exmor RS sensor and f/1.8 aperture lens on the back, and a 5MP camera on the front. Not bad at all. There’s no LTE support, but if you can live with that you’ll still get HSPA+. You won’t miss out on what we have come to think of as standard on most smartphones these days either, which is Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, NFC, and of course WiFi. There’s also an FM radio if you’re not currently tied to any streaming radio app. Right now the device isn’t quite available, but it is reportedly getting pre-order status for wholesalers.
