If this is a trend that’s starting, I’m liking it. Back around Christmas, The Interview popped up on Google Play Movies before it launched in the theaters. Although that was under different circumstances, like Sony Pictures being hacked, pretty bad. Now, we are seeing Serena in the Google Play Store for Movies before it’s started showing in theaters here in the US. The movie is set to hit theaters on March 27th, or you could just buy it from Google Play Movies right now. It’s going for $9.99 for the SD version and $10.99 for the HD version, of course this is the rental price. Not bad, but you do only get the movie for about 24 hours.
Interested in this movie? Check out the description from Play Movies:
“George and Serena Pemberton (Oscar nominee Bradley Cooper and Oscar winner Jennifer Lawrence) are love-struck newlyweds building a business empire. Serena proves herself to be equal to any man: overseeing loggers, hunting rattle-snakes, even saving a man’s life in the wilderness. With power and influence now in their hands, the Pembertons refuse to let anyone stand in the way of their inflated love and ambitions. But their passionate whirlwind romance is threatened by demons from their pasts, forcing the couple to reckon with blackmail, jealousy and murder in this ravishing period film directed by Oscar winner Susanne Bier.”
Sounds like a pretty good movie, right? If you can’t wait until March 27th to watch it in the theater, you can grab some popcorn and rent it from Google Play Movies & TV now.
