Moto E 2015 Available from Boost Mobile and Sprint Prepaid for $99.99

Before Mobile World Congress started, and before most of us had flown out to Spain for it. Motorola had sent most of us a box, a mystery box. It actually contained a really cool press conference, along with the new Moto E 2015 that features 4G LTE. The Moto E 2015 went on sale, officially, earlier this week. The 4G LTE version is going for $149, and the 3G version for $119.99. Which is a pretty great deal for this phone.

Today, Sprint is launching the Moto E 2015 on their prepaid, as well as Boost Mobile for $99.99 without a contract. It’ll be available from Virgin Mobile on March 9th, for the same price. This is the 4G LTE model (and will use Sprint’s 4G LTE network), so that means it’s sporting a Snapdragon 410 processor, which is 64-bit. It’s also got a 4.5-inch qHD display (that’s 960×540 for those wondering), along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It also has a pretty hefty 2390mAh battery inside to keep you going all day long.

We’ve been using the Moto E 2015 off and on for the past week (it just couldn’t keep up with the demand that is Mobile World Congress, though), and it’s a pretty decent smartphone. Obviously it’s not a high-end smartphone like the Galaxy S6, but the price tag reflects this. The fact that you can get a decent smartphone that’s 4.5-inches, running Lollipop and has 4G LTE for just $99, from Sprint is insane. And if you’re just looking for an unlocked version, it’s $149.The race to the bottom has truly begun, and for the US, it’s a great thing.

So if you are looking to pick up the Moto E 2015 on Sprint Prepaid or Boost Mobile, you can head on over to your nearest store now and do so. If you are waiting on Virgin Mobile, you’ll have to wait til Monday morning. Hopefully the Moto E 2015 becomes one of Motorola’s most popular smartphones, beating out the Moto G 2013.
