It looks like LG had a pretty solid 2014, as analysts expect the company to post a 25% growth in their smartphone market year-over-year. LG shipped about 59.6 million smartphones, up from 47.6 million the previous year. The success of the flagship G3 and its cheaper variants like the G3 Beat and G3 Stylus contributed to how well LG did in 2014.
LG is still only the fourth largest manufacturer, but analysts expect growth of smaller Chinese OEMs to slow down in the first part of 2015, while LG should still have a successful few months thanks to the G Flex 2 and an impending LG G4 announcement.
LG still has a ways to go to compete on the same level as Apple and Samsung, but with Samsung slipping recently and LG releasing a series of highly acclaimed devices, they’re well on their way.
