Part of the magic of Samsung phones, or really any phone with a removable battery, is that if you need a larger capacity than you get out of the box — there’s usually plenty of third party options. You can also simply carry a backup battery for those emergency situations.
Still, if you’re in the market for a new case that also acts as a massive ‘second’ battery to compliment the one running strong inside your Galaxy S5, Mophie’s new Juice Pack could come in handy. The glossy shelled cover contains a 3,000 mAh battery, which is a bit bigger than the 2,850 mAh battery already inside the phone and therefore effectively (slightly more than) doubles your battery life. Of course, it also adds quite a bit of bulk to the Galaxy S5 and that could be a deal-breaker for some.
The Mophie Juice Pack is $99.95, which isn’t exactly cheap, especially when you consider than Amazon is littered with both official and 3rd party options that cost $20 or sometimes even less.
