While we were in Chicago earlier this month for Motorola’s event. Motorola took some time to talk to us about MotoMaker and showed us the new version of the website for the new Moto X. Now it’s up and running now, but it is still showing the old Moto X. So you can take a look at it here, (click build yours) but you won’t see the leathers and such just yet. It’s a new UI that looks great and has performed great so far for us.
All the essentials are still there, so you can customize the back, the front, the accents, and everything else. It’s just much more intuitive and it seems to be a bit faster as well. Which is always a good thing, especially when you’re targeting tech geeks like us. MotoMaker for the Moto X (2014) should be live in the morning as pre-orders get under way for the Moto X (2014) on AT&T and the unlocked “Pure Edition” models. Which we’re anxious to play around with MotoMaker some more.
With the Moto X (2014), the MotoMaker orders are not being assembled here in the US anymore. As they are closing down that plant in Fort Worth, Texas. But they are being assembled over in China now. And Motorola told us that they will be sticking to the 4 day rule. So that means you order your Moto X today, you’ll have it in hand on Friday. Pretty crazy right? But definitely something that will keep customers happy as they don’t want to be waiting weeks and weeks for a new phone.
Pre-orders go live tomorrow. How many of you are excited to get to play with MotoMaker and then order your Moto X (2014) in the morning? I’ll definitely be ordering one. As I really do like the Moto X.
