Its no secret that Motorola are refreshing their flagship Moto X and mid-range Moto G models by the end of the year. We’ve also been led to believe that they will be manufacturing the Nexus 6 (codenamed Shamu). If that wasn’t enough, rumors have emerged indicating up to five more new phones from the Lenovo-owned manufacturer, including a Star Wars-themed Droid.
The full list is as follows:
- Droid
- Droid Maxx
- Droid Turbo
- Moto S
- Moto G
- Moto X+1
- Moto X Play
- Nexus 6 (Shamu)
Now here is where things get tricky, a couple of these devices may only see the light of day if the Moto X+1 is successful. If the X+1 flops, the 5.2-inch X Play could adopt the Moto S moniker and the 5.9-inch device that was supposed to carry that name could get scrapped altogether. Additionally its all but guaranteed that the Droid line will be Verizon exclusives, but its possible that they’ll be released on other carriers under different monikers early next year. Let us know in the comments what you think of Motorola’s big plans.
