Dropbox’s Carousel updated with Android L support, quick tools and more

carousel

Dropbox announced and released Carousel some months ago, an app that would take your stored photos and videos and turn them into a timeline of sorts. It’s a great tool for those who use Dropbox for most of their storing needs, especially if you take advantage of auto-upload.

Carousel is now getting what could be the application’s largest update to date, no longer staying exclusive to bug fixes and performance enhancements. The improvements are few, but significant and very clear. The new features are all very solid and will likely improve your experience a great deal.

Carousel update v1.1.4 improvements

  • Quickly hide or delete groups of photos and videos in your Carousel

  • Automatic backup of photos and videos is optional

  • Recipients don’t need Carousel to view shared photos and videos

  • Carousel works on Android L

Some of these seem like features that should have been available from the get-go, such as the ability to delete photos or videos in groups. The option to back up your content automatically or not should have also been there since launch.

As they say: it’s better late than never. We welcome these improvements, as well as Android L support. The new Android OS is coming and all apps should start getting optimized. Go ahead and get your updated Carousel application from the Google Play Store, where the app is available for free.
