Last year, following the announcement of T-Mobile’s JUMP program, Verizon also announced Verizon EDGE. Which was more or less the same thing. You are able to get a phone for $0 down and pay a monthly payment each month until it’s paid off, and you can even upgrade to a new device sooner than on that 2-year contract. Well earlier this year, T-Mobile expanded JUMP to tablets as well, and now Verizon has expanded EDGE to tablets. Starting with the Sony Xperia Z2 Tablet.
So in short, with the Xperia Z2 Tablet, you can either pay $499 on a 2-year contract, $599 outright, or $29.99/month for 20 months to buy the Xperia Z2 Tablet from Verizon. Remember that you have to have at least 60% of your device paid off on EDGE before you can upgrade. Which is similar to the changes that T-Mobile made to their JUMP program, you’ll need 50% paid off before you can upgrade. EDGE for Tablets is already live for the Xperia Z2 Tablet, as well as their other tablets. Which include the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4, Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2, LG G Pad 8.3, Google Nexus 7 (2013) as well as all the iPads and the Nokia Lumia 2520.
Over the past month or so, Verizon has really improved their tablet offering. Just a little while ago, all they had was basically the iPad Air and the iPad Mini with Retina Display. Now they have a ton of other tablets to choose from as well, and in all types of different sizes, which is – as always – great to see. As Android users, choice is what we love to see when choosing a tablet or anything really. Not everyone wants an iPad, not everyone wants a 12-inch tablet, but that’s why Verizon has around 10-12 tablets available. How many of you are looking to pick up a tablet from Verizon?
