MotoMaker Launches in Germany

MotoMaker-Moto-X-AH-1

Last year, Motorola launched MotoMaker. Which was basically their way of being able to allow you to customize your Moto X, and still get it to you within an adequate amount of time. If you order a Moto X here in the US, and get it customized through MotoMaker, you’ll have it within 4 days. Which is pretty good, I’d say. Now Motorola has expanded MotoMaker and it’s now available in Germany as well. Europe got the Moto X earlier this year, about 7-8 months after the US got the device. The Moto X was basically exclusive to North America for 7 months until it expanded to Europe and is now making it’s way to other parts of the world, including India.

What’s interesting here is that Motorola is closing down their MotoMaker plant here in the US by the end of the year, but still expanding MotoMaker in other countries. So what that tells me is that the MotoMaker product will live on, even with Lenovo buying them. I’m guessing they’ll have their own plant in China and will ship it express anywhere in the world so you’ll still get it a decent time frame from when you ordered it.

With MotoMaker you can customize the back of the device, the color of the volume rocker, power button and the ring around the camera. You can even customize your storage, and boot up message. It’s pretty cool and Motorola has told us that there is more coming in the next few months and that this will be part of their company for the foreseeable future with newer products. Which is an interesting approach. It’s basically what PC makers do these days, although it’s usually 3-4 weeks before you get those laptops and desktops at your door.

How many of you in Germany are excited to see MotoMaker launch over there finally? Let us know in the comments down below.
