Although consumers in many parts of the world are still patiently waiting to get their hands on an LG G3, the company is not resting on the laurels thrown their way regarding the new smartphone. Like so many other manufacturers, they appear to be working on an upgraded version of their latest flagship, a device that has been dubbed the “LG G3 Prime” by the Internet.
The latest evidence suggesting a newer, more high-powered version of the G3 is on its way to some markets comes from a new entry in the Bluetooth SIG’s database. The device is listed with model number LG-F460S. Previously, a device bearing model number LG-F460L was spotted in an Android .prop file. That device went by the codename “Tiger” and appeared to be packing a Snapdragon 805 CPU with an Adreno 420 GPU, and a modem that supports speeds of 225 Mbps. Sources believe the model numbers for these two entries point to the same device with trailing letter only designating the network the particular version is designed for. The “L” is believe to be for the LG U+ carrier in South Korea while the “S” corresponds to SK Telecom.
