Modern Combat 5: Blackout ready to hit the virtual shelves of Google Play on July 24th

After a long wait, Gameloft’s popular Modern Combat series will see its next entrant hit Google Play on July 24th for $6.99 when Modern Combat 5: Blackout will be available. Once paid for, no additional in-app purchases will be needed. Gameloft says the new title brings a unified character progression system for both the single-player and multi-player modes of the game. This means that online connectivity is required even when in single player mode.

Although single player will be available, most players will likely want to engage in some multi-player fun. Gameloft is making four modes available for multi-player: Capture the Flag, Free for All, Team Battle, and VIP. The game will support up to 12 players at the same time. Players will be able to choose from one of four soldier classes – assault, heavy, recon, and sniper. Each class gets a unique set of skills. Gameloft also says this latest title will bring new vehicles, improved visuals, and new environments to the Modern Combat universe.

Gameloft released an updated trailer for Modern Combat 5: Blackout during last month’s E3 event, a year after their original Modern Combat 5 trailer was released.
