Sprint Starts Sending Out Android Lollipop Update To Samsung Galaxy Note 3 And Galaxy Note Edge

Legions of users across carriers with various different handsets are all waiting to get their first taste of Android Lollipop, and slowly but surely, the manufacturers are passing off the software after having been tested to the carriers and in turn the carriers are testing it on their end and finally pushing the software out to users. It’s a long process sometimes when it has to change multiple hands but in the end it feels like it’s all worth it to many people for the sheer fact that having something new just gives off a feeling of excitement. That and the features.

For subscribers on Sprint using the Samsung Galaxy Note 3, and the Samsung Galaxy Note Edge, that feeling of excitement is rolling out now as Sprint has started pushing the update to both those devices for Android 5.0 Lollipop. It may have taken a bit longer than other carriers, but users will likely forget all about the wait once the software is loaded up on their phones. It comes in at hefty 1GB in package size so make sure you have an ample amount of space free to account for the software download, and it wouldn’t hurt to make sure you have more than enough battery life throughout the process, so keep your phone charged up.

Most people should already be familiar with what comes along in the update to Lollipop, which includes generic Lollipop specific stuff like the material design style to the UI, (with Samsung’s own touch of course, since this is meshed in with TouchWiz)and plenty of animations fluttering about whenever users interact with nearly anything on screen. Those are just a couple of the more visual things of course, other features like the heads up notifications on any screen and the lockscreen notifications will be present too, and generally TouchWiz should look and feel a little bit lighter overall. If you don’t quite have the update hitting your device yet, you could always check things on your own manually by navigating to settings and checking the about phone/software update menu. If it still doesn’t show up keep in mind that it could take a few days at least before everyone starts receiving it.
