Meizu has released a number of solid smartphones last year, which have been very well received by the consumers. This China-based company isn’t one of the biggest Chinese OEMs, but it’s certainly their plan to become one. Their sales are constantly rising, which means they’re on the right path. Speaking of Meizu, the company has announced yesterday that they’re pushing Android Lollipop-powered Flyme 5 OS to their flagship, Meizu MX4 Pro. Unfortunately for regular consumers, we’re not talking about the final build of the software here. This update is being pushed only to Meizu’s beta testers, or “Panda Knights” as they’re called in this case.
That being said, I believe many of you have been wondering when will the final software build be available for Meizu MX4 Pro, as well as other devices. Well, we don’t have any official news just yet, but we do have a leaked Meizu Android Lollipop update roadmap to share with you. This image leaked on the Chinese social network Weibo, where we usually find such leaks regarding Chinese companies. If you take a look at the provided image down below, you’ll notice that the Meizu MX4 Pro is expected to receive the final build of Flyme 5 by the end of April. Meizu MX4 is expected to receive the update at that very same period, while the update will reportedly hit Meizu MX2 and MX3 before the end of May. Even the Meizu MX will receive the update it seems, the update is expected to hit the first-gen Meizu MX device sometime this summer. Meizu M1 is also mentioned here, and according to this chart, it will receive Android Lollipop update in June. I presume that “Meizu M1″ means that both the Meizu M1 and M1 Note will receive the update in that timeframe.
There you have it, it seems like Meizu intends to update every device they released in 2014 and 2015, along with some of their earlier flagships. I’m sure that many of you who are carrying older Meizu devices will be glad to hear this, but remember this is still not official information.
