Android Game Of The Week: Tales From The Borderlands

Do you like Borderlands? Do you fancy yourself a famed vault hunter(or in this case a Hyperion company man)who knows the ins and outs of Pandora and want to make it big? You can(attempt)to do all this and more in Telltale Games latest title to hit the Play Store, Tales From The Boderlands. This crazy insanity fueled adventure has been out on consoles and PC for the better part of a month, and it has finally made the jump to Android this week. I have played a good few hours already through the PS4 version myself but the game is so good I had to have the opportunity to play it on the go also.

In Tales from The Borderlands you play as Rhys,(and at least one other character, Fiona who is a grifter)a Hyperion suit who is on his way to the top as things finally seem to be looking up for you after years of servitude. Rhys’s goal is to be the next Handsome Jack, but he runs into a slight roadbump and ends up on Pandora, where he finds himself working with Fiona to grab the biggest score of their lives and get the cash they feel they deserve. Throughout the game you’ll come in contact with loads of different characters, and you’ll come across all the familiar and awesome Borderlands moments you know from the original game series.

This of course is amplified to be truly awesome in a unique way by the storytelling aspects thrown in by Telltale games, where you can set the tone of the game by the player driven choices you make, ultimately changing the outcome. Not all choices will change the course of the game in a major way, but they will have some(if only slight)affect on certain things. Like with all Telltale Games titles, Tales From The Borderlands will be an episodic series of games starting with this first episode which is now available. More will be launched in the future at the same price, or you can pick up the season pass which ends up giving you all episodes as they release and saving you the cost of one episode. This is one game definitely not to be missed, and you can grab it from the Play Store for $4.99.
