ZTE has been rather active lately, the company has announced partnership with the Knicks, Rocket and the Warriors recently. That’s not all though, we’ve seen a rather interesting ZTE device stop by TENAA for certification, ZTE S2004. That handset has the potential of being ZTE’s flagship handset with a Snapdragon 801 CPU, 3GB of RAM and a 5.5-inch 1080p display. We still don’t have an ETA for that handset, but you can expect it released in China soon, ZTE will quite probably push it to other markets soon after that. Anyhow, we have some new and exciting news for you when it comes to this company.
It was revealed at the end of October that ZTE will bezel-less phone sometime in the future and by bezel-less I don’t mean it won’t have any bezel on it, that’s basically impossible at the moment, but it won’t have any bezel on the sides of the device. New information confirms that ZTE will launch such a device and even gives us an estimated time of arrival, you can expect this handset to launch next month. According to the source, this handset will be a part of ZTE’s Nubia line and will be called ZTE Nubia Z9, Nubia Z7‘s successor. It will reportedly sport a 5.3-inch screen without any bezel on the sides and will be narrower than the iPhone 4S.
Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? Well, it should, this is a rather interesting concept, though it raises a ton of questions. A phone with no bezel on the sides would be extremely awkward to hold and I hope ZTE is having accidental touches in mind and has a way to prevent them. If they manage to solve those problems, this phone could sell like crazy, nobody has done anything similar thus far. The fact that it will allegedly sport a 5.3-inch display and yet be narrower than the iPhone 4S is just a plus, that only means we’ll get an extremely compact device as well, though it might be somewhat tall. ZTE’s Nubia line always had great specs on the inside as well, so this will quite probably be a beast of a phone. As I said, it sounds interesting, we’ll see what will ZTE come up with in the end.
