Oppo N1 was a rather surprising handset which Oppo released last year. That device pushed this Chinese smartphone manufacturer under the spotlight and expectations are quite big when it comes to its successor. Oppo N1 had a very distinctive design-related feature, a rotating camera on the top of the device. That arguably didn’t look all that great, but it was rather functional and of course Oppo wanted to manufacture its successor. Oppo has already announced an event for October 29th and not-so-subtlety confirmed they’ll launch Oppo N3 on that event. No, that’s not a typo, Oppo N1’s successor will be called Oppo N3 for some reason, company will, hopefully, share the reasons behind that once they launch the device.
After many, many rumors and leaks we’ve seen when it comes to this device (including 4 differently designed renders), Oppo has finally released an official render of this device. If you take a look at the image above you’ll se the upper back part of the device, that’s all we get unfortunately but it’s enough to stop all those rumors about the design of that rotating camera. You may recall we’ve seen all kinds of renders when it comes to this device, one even showed us a side camera which can be placed inside of the device, though that wasn’t believable at all. Anyhow, the camera showed in the official render shows us a rather seamless fit as far as size goes, but unfortunately the camera has that stitching pattern along with what looks like a different texture than the rest of the device. It’s too early to judge though, who knows, perhaps the front side of the device contains a pattern which goes perfectly with what we see here… I seriously doubt that though. That would mean we have some sort of stitching up front along with a different texture than the back.
What are your thoughts on this? I’m not gonna judge anything until I see the final design, though this doesn’t look promising in my humble opinion. Anyhow, Oppo N3 will allegedly feature VOOC rapid charging, a metal build and some sort of new cooling system Oppo has developed for the N3. The device will reportedly sport a 5.9-inch display (1080p or 2K), 3GB of RAM and a Snapdragon 805 quad-core processor though these are just rumors at this point.
