Elephone P3000S Is Now Available to Pre-Order, Features MediaTek MT6592 and 2GB of RAM

Elephone is a Chinese manufacturer whose smartphone offerings are becoming more and more popular. This manufacturer is rather known in China for making affordable and yet well-built devices. Elephone P3000 was and still is a rather popular and affordable smartphone, this manufacturer decided to release a sort of an iterative update to this device, bump up its specs and name it the Elephone P3000S.

Let’s start with the original Elephone P3000. This handset is sporting a 5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) JDI IPS display along with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage which is expandable via MicroSD card. The device is powered by MediaTek’s MT6582 quad-core processor clocked at 1.3GHz which comes with Mali-400 MP2 GPU for graphics processing. 13-megapixel camera can be found at the back of this device while there’s also a front-facing 5-megapixel shooter included. 3150mAh battery is included in this package and the device comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat. Fingerprint scanner and dual SIM support are also a part of this package, this is also a 4G LTE device. This new device, the Elephone P3000S brings some improvements to the table. The device looks basically the same from the outside and does share some of the specs with the original. P3000S comes with the same size and resolution display like the P3000 though this model sports 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. This handset also brings an improved chipset, it comes with MediaTek’s MT6592 octa-core processor while also sporting LTE and a fingerprint sensor. Rear-facing camera is the same as in P3000, but this device brings an improved front-facing shooter which is not 8-megapixels strong. Elephone P3000S supports LTE-FDD 800/1800/2100/2600 and WCDMA 850/900/1900 / 2100MHz networks.

Several retailers are carrying this device, you can pre-order it for $211.59, which is not a bad price at all. I’d argue this is a solid offering by Elephone and yet another great affordable device from China. Do keep in mind that Elephone will quite probably launch the P4000 device this year as well as a direct competitor to Meizu MX4.
