Toshiba’s Bay Trail Chromebook Now Available for $250

Announced earlier this year, Toshiba’s latest Chromebook is now available. And it features the Intel Bay Trail processor inside. Toshiba hasn’t been very popular in terms of Chromebooks, but they do look a lot like Apple’s Macbook Air’s. This one is starting at $250, and has a 13.3-inch display along with the Intel Celeron N2840 Bay Trail Processor. It also has 2GB of RAM, 16GB of storage and a 1366×768 resolution display. Toshiba has rated it at 11 hours of battery. Which is just insane. Then there’s the $330 model which has all the same specs except for 4GB of RAM, 1920×1080 resolution display and 9 hours of battery life. A bit less battery, but still plenty for most people.

The cheap Toshiba model is shipping now, with the $330 model up for pre-order right now on Amazon’s website. We’ve got links down below for those interested in picking either of these up. They appear to be pretty good Chromebooks for the price. As most of them are 11 inchers, and these are 13 inchers, it’s nice to see a bit of a bump in the size. This is just my opinion, but I feel like the 13.3-inch laptops/Chromebooks are the perfect size, as 11.6 is just too small and the 15 inchers are a bit too big, especially for portability.

There are lots of other Chromebooks out there, including a number of them from Acer, Samsung, HP, and now ASUS as well. It’s going to be interesting to see how these from Toshiba stack up against the competition. How many of you are interested in this Toshiba Chromebook 2?
