Chinese manufacturers have been doing a great job lately. Xiaomi has been selling their devices like crazy for a while now, their Redmi flash sales have been extremely popular. Meizu is having issues meeting the demand for their MX4 flagship and then there’s IUNI. This China-based manufacturer announced company’s new flagship last month and managed to draw attention to themselves from people all around the world. IUNI U3 comes with some beastly specifications at a really affordable price point. Small amount of units have been on sale since September 14th, but those sold out real quick. Starting today, IUNI U3 is available for purchase in China for 2000 Yuan ($320), this time we’re talking about a proper launch. The device comes in black, white and green color options.
IUNI U3 features a 5.5-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display from Sharp, 3GB of RAM and 32GB of in-built storage. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor clocked at 2.3GHz is powering this thing and comes with Adreno 330 GPU for graphics processing. 13-megapixel camera is located at the back of the device while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper located on the front of it. 3000mAh is also part of this package and the device comes with Android 4.4.4 OS out of the box with IUNI OS on top of it. This is an LTE capable device and as you can see it comes with really thin side bezels.
I can see this device sell really well thanks to that balance between the specifications and the price. IUNI didn’t say anything about international availability or anything of the sort though I hope they’ll mention it soon. This device could really make some waves worldwide if IUNI finds a way to manufacture enough units and a way to sell them. Perhaps they could do something similar to Meizu and launch it directly from their webpage for international consumers as well. Would you consider getting either of the released Chinese phones? I’m not especially interested in either one of those to be quite honest, but I do think Chinese manufacturers are on the right path. There are many companies over there that are doing a great job.
