Here’s How To Double Your OneDrive Storage To 30GB

onedrive-ah-1 Cloud storage apps are becoming better and better as well as offering more and more free storage as time goes on. One of these cloud storage apps is Microsoft’s official one, called OneDrive, which currently offers free users 15GB of storage. That’s pretty darn generous if you ask us, but apparently Microsoft is feeling extra generous today as they are offering free users of OneDrive the opportunity to double their free cloud storage from 15GB to 30GB.

How you go about doubling your free cloud storage from 15GB to 30GB is pretty simple. All you have to do is enable the “camera roll” feature in the OneDrive app. This feature is essentially an automatic photo upload feature, whenever you take a picture on your phone it will be uploaded to OneDrive. Once you have the camera roll feature enabled you will have a whopping 30GB of free storage in OneDrive. It’s worth mentioning that Google Drive, Google’s cloud storage app, only offers 15GB of free cloud storage, heck, it’s more than almost all other cloud storage services offer for free.

If you read the official blog post by Microsoft that let the world know about this promotion, you will quickly learn that this was purposely done at this exact time. What do we mean by this? Well the title of Microsoft’s blog post is “Hey iPhone Users…You Can Now Get 30 GB of Free Storage with OneDrive”. As you can see, Microsoft created this promotion at this time to coincide with the iPhone 6 launch so that people with their new iPhone would be tempted to download the OneDrive app on their new iPhone 6 and use it. A very clever move on Microsoft’s part. Oh and by the way, don’t let the title of Microsoft’s blog post fool you folks, this promotion works on Android and Windows Phone as well, not just iOS.

Now that Microsoft has done this, it’s time to sit back and see how long it takes other cloud storage services to offer something similar. If you want to get in on this free 30GB of storage offer but don’t have the OneDrive app installed on your phone then follow this link to be taken to the app on the Google Play Store. Enjoy your free storage!
