Navdy HUD Leaves First Week Of Pre-Orders With $1 Million To Show For It

Navdy

There’s plenty of awesome stuff on Kickstarter, and arguably a good amount of it comes in the form of tech gadgets and other cool electronics. Navdy is not one of those gadgets. It could be though, instead Navdy is going through pre-orders as it seems to have had all the funding it needed when the project to bring it to life began. The cool thing about Navdy is that it’s a mini Heads-Up-Display device that you can mount on your cars dashboard, and after you connect your smartphone to it via Bluetooth, Navdy interfaces with it and allows you to access all kinds of features in quite honestly, a much more logical way not only because you don’t have to touch anything(it functions through voice and gesture controls)but because of the placement. Up until Navdy, being connected in the car usually meant car mounts for smartphones or tablets, or console mounted tablet docks, which are off to the right of you when driving, or left if you drive on the right hand side meaning you have divert your eyes away from the road.

With Navdy, everything you need is right in front of you so you can keep your eyes forward and focused in the direction of traffic. So far Navdy seems to be getting some pretty big excitement geared towards their product, so much so that it has reached $1 Million in pre-orders during their very first week. That’s pretty impressive, and after you watch the video for it you’ll understand why too. You might even be just as excited as those who have already reserved a device and pre-order one yourself. There is 21 days left to do your pre-order at the 40% off cost which is $299, but if you wait too long that price jumps up to $499 instead after the official launch.

Things seem to be going really well for Navdy, as the companies CEO Doug Simpson reports that they’re being contacted by tons of app developers looking to make their apps Navdy compatible. That’s good news for Navdy as well as the consumers who are looking to buy or have already placed their pre-orders as it’ll mean more support for stuff that people use. Right now it seems that Navdy supports answering calls, sending or replying to text messages and grabbing navigational directions of course, all with the sound of your voice or a wave the hand. As displayed in the video you can also send tweets. Check out the video then hit up the source link to jump to the Navdy website and place a pre-order if you want to score one of these things for nearly half off.
