OnePlus Promises to push out Android L within 90 days of Release

If you’ve been on OnePlus’ forums, you’ll notice two things. One everyone asking for invites, well more like begging. Two, everyone asking about Android L. Now everyone was asking for ports and stuff, which CyanogenMod already came out and said they will not be working on Android L until the final build is out in the fall. Which makes perfect sense, in my opinion. Now, OnePlus has announced on their forums that they will have Android L rolling out within 90 days of it being released by Google. Which means OnePlus is jumping on HTC’s bandwagon about updates. As they said for both KitKat and Android L that they would release it in 90 days. Now with KitKat they were pretty close, they were only off by about a week or so. And that’s probably due to the carriers. But since OnePlus doesn’t need to go through the carriers, we probably won’t see that issue here.

Another difference between HTC and OnePlus is that OnePlus is more like stock Android, so it shouldn’t take them too long to get it going and ready for the OnePlus One. While HTC has Sense 6 on top, which is light, but it’s still a skin. We all know that the software for the OnePlus One is provided by Cyanogen which has been doing this for a long time, so it may not even take them 90 days to get the update rolled out the door and onto our devices. Although it’ll be interesting to see how fast it does, as CM is usually pretty fast anyways.

How many of you are excited for the Android L release on the OnePlus One? How many of you are still waiting on an Invite? Well we might have something for you soon on that front. Let us know in the comments down below.
