Lenovo may be in the final stages of buying Motorola, and the changes may already be starting. However, Lenovo is still planning on releasing 60 smartphones just this year. One of which could be the Golden Warrior A8 which has recently become official.
Until recently, the Lenovo Golden Warrior A8 was just a rumored device, but Lenovo has finally made it official. While the specs of the A8 are pretty standard as far as smartphones go, Lenovo has decided to amp up the CPU. The A8 will have the MT-6592 CPU inside, which is an octa-core processor produced by MediaTek. The MT-6592 is capable of speeds up to 150Mbps. The rest of the specs seem to point to more of a mid to low range device.
The A8 has a 5-inch, 720×1280 resolution display, 2GB RAM, and 16GB onboard storage. The rear facing camera carries 13MP, while the front facing camera carries 5MP. Another feature of the rear facing camera comes complete with a dual LED flash. The software on the A8 will be Android Kit Kat 4.4.2 with the UI overlay being Lenovo’s Vibe 2.0. Though as one of the 60 devices coming out of Lenovo this year, the A8 is the successor to the first device in the Golden Warrior line-up-the S8. One of the bigger differences between the A8 and the S8, is the availability of 4G LTE on the A8. One other thing that is very apparent when looking at the press render of the device (see above) is that there is an obvious Samsung influence. The A8 takes a turn with the faux leather back plate that has become very familiar amongst Samsung device users.
The Golden Warrior A8-as you may have guessed-will be available in gold. Other color options include black, pink, silver and white. The device comes with a price tag of $128, and is currently only available in China. It’s also unclear whether or not the device will be coming to the US. Lenovo has rarely shipped devices to the US, in fact, they rarely get to parts of the EU.
