Today, we’re reviewing something a little different from what we normally review. And that is the Cambridge Audio Minx M5. It features two speakers along with a pretty large subwoofer. Which, as expected, provides some pretty good and deep sounds. It even has a pretty interesting remote control which I really liked. The remote has a port for audio in and out as well as a microUSB port so you can plug your phone into it. I’ve been using this speaker system with my laptop for the past week and have loved it. It’s got amazing sound, and gets plenty loud without it getting distorted. I also used this connected to my TV with Chromecast, and it – again – provided amazing sound and clarity.
Obviously this isn’t a very portable speaker system and doesn’t have a battery inside to keep it going. But it is pretty easy to assemble, and hook up to your desk or even your room. The subwoofer is pretty large, which I kept that under my desk, along with one speaker on either side of my laptop on my desk, and it worked really well. I fell in love with these speakers actually. There’s not a ton to say about these speakers, as most of our reviews talk about portability and battery life and that doesn’t really apply to the Minx M5. But I will say that if you are looking for a decent speaker system for your living room or entertainment system, you should definitely check this one out.
The Cambridge Audio Minx M5 is retailing for $229, which is a bit pricey, but once you hear them, you’ll agree that it’s worth the price.
