Samsung Gear VR Headset Is Now Available For Purchase At Best Buy For $199

September 3rd, 2014 was a huge day for Samsung, they’ve announced a couple of devices at their pre-IFA event in Berlin. This Korean tech giant has announced their long-awaited Galaxy Note 4 handset, along with the biggest surprise of the conference, the Galaxy Note Edge device with a curved screen on the side which carries some special functionality, and yet comes with all Galaxy Note 4’s software tricks. That wasn’t all though, the Gear S smartwatch got showcased, and Samsung announced yet another gadget that has surprised many people, the Gear VR.

Gear VR is a virtual reality headset which works in collaboration with the Galaxy Note 4, it can’t function without it in fact. Samsung has developed this thing with the help from Oculus, creators of the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset. The Gear VR device had limited availability worldwide, as far as the U.S. goes, this thing was made available by AT&T and Samsung, and now Best Buy has announced that you can pick one up in one of their stores as well. The Gear VR headset will cost you $199 should you choose to buy it, which is not exactly affordable considering you need to own a Galaxy Note 4 as well, but the price is not higher than it is elsewhere.

This VR headset features a Super AMOLED display which in collaboration with the Note 4 throws you in a virtual reality environment, which looks and feels great according to what I heard. I personally didn’t test this headset out, but some of my colleagues have, and the experience is quite nice apparently. If you’re looking to push your gaming on a new level or something like that, and have some cash to spare in order to buy this thing and use it with your Galaxy Note 4 handset, well… go ahead and pull the trigger.
