The Countdown Begins, Flipkart Is Teasing The Arrival Of The Asus ZenFone 2 To India

Since its debut at CES Las Vegas in January 2015 there has been a world of hype surrounding the Asus ZenFone 2. And rightfully so. Harboring high-end specs and as much RAM as your desktop computer, Asus’ latest flagship is priced to move. The company is already projecting sales of up to 30 million units.

Just days ahead of its release in India, on-line based retailer Flipkart is showcasing a ZenFone 2 countdown until launch stating “The Wait Will Be Over” in just a little over three days. The device goes live on Thursday, April 23rd. Flipkart is the premier online distribution hub for smart phones in India. In the past they’ve hosted flash sales for Xiaomi, Motorola and Lenovo to name a few. Some of these devices sold out in only seconds. But it is safe to assume that the ZenFone will be readily available at all times for buyers to purchase. Of course some users may run into the dreaded “out of stock” dialogue, but that’s better than missing out altogether and being forced to wait until the next sale.

There are in fact four variations of the ZenFone 2, with successive models boasting higher specs than the last. Prices range from the equivalent of $224 for the 2 GB version and $288 for the 4 GB model. At the top of the ZenFone ladder, and a subject of all the hype, is model number ZE551ML. This handset features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) IPS display along with 4GB of RAM and 16, 32 or 64GB of internal storage (expandable via microSD card up to 64GB). The ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML) is powered by Intel’s Atom Z3580 64-bit quad-core processor and it offers 4G LTE connectivity. Android 5.0 Lollipop comes pre-installed here with Asus’ ZenUI on top of it. On the back of this device you’ll find a 13-megapixel camera, while there’s a 5-megapixel snapper available up front.

The device will be available in a number of colors such as Osmium Black, Sheer Gold, Glacier Gray, Glamor Red and Ceramic White.
