T-Mobile has always been about value. More value for their customers for the same or little more money. With an announcement today, T-Mobile is extending this value to the customers who have plans through Walmart’s Family Mobile services which are powered by T-Mobile’s network. Essentially these are just updated plans that already exist, giving customers more for what they already pay on the plans they love. the updated plans will be bringing customers more data for no additional charge, which should afford them a little more browsing, a little more streaming music, or more data for snapping and uploading photos to their favorite social networks.
Walmart and T-Mobile will be updating two different plans, starting with the $29.88 a month plan which comes with unlimited talk, text, and now up to 1GB of 4G LTE data. Prior to the update the plan only allowed half of that data allotment, so customers were only getting 500MB for the same cost. The second plan that’s being updated is the plan that costs $39.88 a month, which also comes with unlimited talk and text, but ups the data amount to 3GB of 4G LTE data instead of the previous 2.5GB. Although not new, T-Mobile mentions that anyone who signs up for multiple lines with these updated Family Mobile plans can save an additional $5 off for each line past the initial one that they set up.
If these plans sound like a great deal to you and you’re already an existing Family Mobile customer, changes will automatically take place when the plans get updated which starts tomorrow, April 18th. For new customers who are thinking about coming to Family Mobile, the same date applies and starting tomorrow you’ll be able to sign up for either one of these two updated plans and get the additional data that comes with it. Customers can sign up for Family Mobile plans at physical retail Walmart locations or through Walmart’s online website. It’s also worth noting that customers who sign up for Family Mobile must go into a Walmart location and speak to a representative from the wireless department if they want to make any changes to their plans, as T-Mobile stores won’t be able to service those customers.
