Samsung Might End Up Selling Over 55 Million Galaxy S6 And S6 Edge Units By The End Of 2015

Galaxy S6 Event AH20

Samsung’s didn’t fare all that well last year. The company has experienced significant profit drops in the Mobile department and they decided to restructure their business model to some extent. This Korean tech giant started to combine metal with their preferred polycarbonate (plastic) build materials, which resulted in both better looking and feeling devices. The company decided to make another step forward and manufacture a metal unibody handset, two in fact. Samsung has announced their new Galaxy S6 flagships earlier this month during the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona. These two handsets are the first metal unibody smartphones that Samsung manufactured, ever.

Now that we got that out of the way, let’s talk sales. According to some reports, the company has already received over 20 million pre-orders from various carriers all over the world for both the Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. Various analysts believe that these two handsets will do really well in the market it seems, which would definitely help Samsung dethrone Apple and become the world’s first smartphone manufacturer yet again. The newest report from Korea says that Samsung might end up selling over 55 million Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge units by the end of this year.

According to a report by Korea Herald, the company’s bold design choice will make the Galaxy S6 more popular than ever. They’re referring to both metal materials and the curved display in Galaxy S6 Edge’s case. Samsung’s newest handsets will have a lot of competition out in the market though. HTC has launched their new flagship the same day Samsung did and LG will launch the G4 next month. Apple is expected to unveil the iPhone 6S / 7 in the next couple of months, same goes for Sony’s upcoming Xperia Z4 flagship. There are also all sorts of threats that are coming from China. Keeping that in mind, Samsung expected o sell over 22 million Galaxy S6 units in the second quarter of this year, and over 16 million in the third quarter. Samsung is a huge company and quite popular, they might even be able to pull this off in the end.
