Phone screens are becoming bigger and bigger, which of course means that the devices are becoming bigger and bigger as well. That’s not good, for obvious reasons, and that’s why smartphone manufacturers are trying to trim down the bezel on said devices in order to keep them as compact as possible. Sharp has done something interesting when they manufactured their Aquos Crystal handset, the removed the bezels on the top and the sides but the device contained a rather sizeable chin below the display. This chin was needed to house the camera and all sorts of sensors. Other OEMs didn’t take this approach, but they’re trying to trim down (or remove) the side bezels as much as possible though.
We’ve already seen some leaked photos of the LeTVs upcoming X600 handset, and today we’ve stumbled upon another one. If you take a look at the first image in the gallery down below, you’ll notice a not-so-revealing LeTV X600 image, but it’s enough for you to see how thin those side bezels are. The second image in the gallery shows off the X600’s alleged speakers and the USB Type-C charging port on the bottom of the handset. This handset will, according to TENAA (China’s equivalent to the FCC), sport a 5.5-inch 1080p display, 2GB of RAM and will be powered by MediaTek’s MT6795 SoC. 13-megapixel camera will also be a part of the package here, and the device will also offer 16GB of internal storage. This handset is expected to arrive in three versions, the polycarbonate version will cost $160, the metal version will set you back $319 and the highest-end model will cost $480. The LeTV X600 will be available in Gold, Gray and White color options.
This is not the only bezel-less handset we’ll talk about here. Oppo’s mysterious handset has also surfaced in China, showing off its almost non-existent side bezels. There are a couple of images down below in which you can check out this device. According to the source, this handset will feature a 5.5-inch display. The source did not, however, reveal any additional details regarding this device. We don’t know if this will be a mid-range or a high-end device, or is the leak legit even. Oppo really likes to pay special attention to the design of their devices, and the company is prone to rather odd design choices sometimes. Who knows what can we expect them to release, so stay tuned, we’ll report back as soon as we gather more information.
