Specs For Samsung’s Upcoming Galaxy Tab A And Galaxy Tab A Plus Tablets Show Up

Samsung-Galaxy-Tab-S-Review-AH-18

Samsung has a plethora of devices for people to choose from in the mobile space, both with smartphones and with tablets alike. They no doubt have some plans for new tablets this year, and a couple of new tablets in the Galaxy Tab line may be the next two devices to show up, which we may end up getting to see at the upcoming Mobile World Congress event that takes place on March 1st in Barcelona. Although we haven’t gotten to see these two new tablets yet, SamMobile has apparently gotten their hands on some specifications of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy Tab A and Galaxy Tab A Plus tablets.

According to these specs listings, Samsung will be releasing two size variants of each tablet, and we’ll be looking at the option of picking up either an 8-inch tablet or a 9.7-inch tablet for both the Galaxy Tab A and the Galaxy Tab A Plus. Essentially both the Galaxy Tab A and the Galaxy Tab A Plus will be pretty similar in nearly every way, but the Plus model will have a couple of improvements over the regular model, which is said to be the inclusion of the S pen that comes with Samsung’s Note lineup of devices, and a slightly higher RAM capacity set at 2GB in contrast to the 1.5GB of RAM on the Galaxy Tab A.

There will also be some differences in battery capacity and processor type, although not from the Tab A to the Tab A Plus, rather between the 8-inch and 9.7-inch sizes. Both the Galaxy Tab A and the Galaxy Tab A Plus in the 8-inch model will come with the snapdragon 410 processor and a 4,200mAh battery capacity, while the 9.7-inch models will have a Qualcomm APQ8016 CPU and a 6,000mAh battery capacity to account for the larger display. Both tablets in both sizes will come with the same type of cameras on the front face and on the rear, set at 2MP for the front and 5MP for the back, while also coming with 16GB of internal storage space but no mention on whether or not there will be microSD card slots for expandable storage or not. Both tablets in both sizes will also come in a WiFi only or LTE capable model so you’ll be able to set these up on a carrier if you wish. So far there aren’t any details on price or a release date, but look out for Mobile World Congress as this is where we would expect to seem them show up since Samsung is holding their Unpacked event during the first day.
