Motorola’s Turbo Charger had a lot of people skeptical at first. About if it could really charge your phone that quickly, and if so, would it damage your phone? Well I’ve been using the Turbo Charger on every phone I’ve had since the Nexus 6 came out, and no damage so far. But boy does it charge smartphones up quickly. Especially ones like the Xperia Z3, where the battery isn’t that big, but still fairly large compared to a couple years ago. Motorola was marketing the Turbo Charger with the Droid Turbo to give you about 8 hours of usage in 15 minutes. I’m not sure that’s correct, but it can give you about 40% charge in 15 minutes, which isn’t bad at all.
The Turbo Charger comes with the Nexus 6, Droid Turbo and Moto Maxx. Although it has been on sale separately this entire time as well. Now it appears that it’s coming to the UK Google Play Store, and it’ll cost £24.99. Not cheap, but not too shabby either. Motorola’s Turbo Charger uses Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 2.0 to charge your phone quickly without damaging it. Basically it charges it quickly until it gets to 80%, then it charges a bit slower so that it doesn’t damage your phone, or your battery. The charger is a bit large, but it is transferring more power than your typical charger, so that’s kinda expected, I’d think.
So there you have it UK readers, the Turbo Charger has landed over in the UK Google Play Store. It’s still listed as “Coming Soon” but should be available shortly. Can’t wait to see what other chargers come out with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge compatibility.
