We knew Motorola was planning to roll out Android 5.0 Lollipop for the first generation Motorola Moto G (2013) sometime soon after an update to Motorola Update Services app hinted as much. It seems the rollout may already be underway as a user on XDA posted yesterday evening that he received the update prompt on his Moto G XT1033 (the original model with the 4.5-inch display and dual SIM) in India.
The software version shown is 220.21.16.en.03 and officially marks the first gen Moto G as one of the most affordable handsets on the planet to run the absolute latest Android firmware. Might have to gift myself one of these bad boys for Christmas. Sit tight. We expect the rollout to hit more regions in the coming days.
