YouTube is currently in the process of rolling out its own native GIF maker. While it’s currently not enabled for all videos yet, it’s happening for some. For example, if you head to the PBS Idea Channel (first discovered by Andy Baio) and share one of their videos, you’ll see the GIF maker pop up. It’s quite a simple process to do.
After you share a video, all you have to do is punch in the start and end points, set whatever captions you’d like, and that’s it. YouTube does the hosting itself.
Again, the feature is slowly rolling out, as is Google fashion, but you’ll be able to GIF all the things (at least on YouTube) in a soon enough fashion.
