Partnerships are everything these days because exposure is maximized by introducing a new audience. When an application is pre-installed on a handset, it is known as “bloatware.” No one really cares for pre-installed apps and they take up space that is better used elsewhere. The latest partnership between Sprint and Uber, though, seems more like a value. The carrier will be pre-installing Uber on its Android phones. When launching a Sprint handset for the first time, an Uber app will be there already; however, users have to open it and proceed to download it from the Play Store. Then, the carrier has a unique “SPRINT” offer code to take $20 off of a user’s first Uber ride.
