Best Buy is running a limited time promotion with Sprint to give customers a free one-month trial of Sprint’s prepaid network when they buy certain phones. This move should hopefully help Sprint boost their subscriber numbers after falling to second place to T-Mobile.
To qualify, all a customer has to do is purchase any eligible phone and have it activated at Best Buy. There are plenty of options, including Samsung’s Galaxy S III and Galaxy S 5, the LG Tribute and LG Volt, and the Sharp Crystal. After the trial month, users can pick between three different tiers of plans to move onto, starting at $35 per month for unlimited talk and text with 1 GB of data, and capping out at $55 per month for 6 GB of data.
Sprint already has a strong prepaid presence thanks to Boost Mobile and Virgin Mobile, but marketing this new facet of their prepaid network should definitely help them stay competitive.
