ZTE announced ZTE V5 Max and V5S last month. Both of those handset are mid-ranger smartphones, though V5 Max is a better specced one out of these two. V5 Max features a 5.5-inch 720p (1280 x 720) display along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of expandable internal storage. V5S on the other hand comes with a 5-inch 720p display, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of expandable internal storage. Both of them are powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 410 CPU and have 13 and 5-megapixel cameras included. Android 4.4.4 KitKat ships on both of these devices and they’re priced at 999 and 899 Yuan respectively. Both of these handset will be available in red, blue, yellow and green colors and will launch in China first, it remains to be seen when will ZTE offer it after that.
That being said, another ZTE devices paid a visit to TENAA (China’s equivalent of the FCC) recently, though this time around we get a flagship material device. ZTE S2004 is the device in question and according to TENAA listing this handset features a 5.5-inch 1080p (1920 x 1080) display along with 3GB of RAM for all your multitasking needs and 16GB of non-expandable internal storage. This handset will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core chip clocked at 2.5GHz which comes with an Adreno 330 GPU. The listing also says the phone will have an 8+ megapixel camera, which basically means we’ll see an 8-megapixel shooter on there or perhaps a somewhat bigger 13-megapixel sensor, who knows, maybe ZTE decides to include something even bigger in there. The phone will also ship with a dual tone, dual LED flash, as you can see in the image below, LED sensors are on both right and left sides of the camera.
This is actually a rather well-specced device. I didn’t expect ZTE to release something like this anytime soon, but considering the device already went through TENAA certification we could see it launched in China soon. This handset is definitely flagship material and I’m actually glad ZTE decided to release something like this, ZTE V5 Max and ZTE V5S were somewhat disappointing, not that they’re bad devices, but I expected ZTE to release a flagship handset last month.
